serendipity, poster on a church next to Wachovia bank says ‘Jesus Saves’.
a moment of perfect timing, when passing the Polish embassy, Dionne notices a lady vigorously cleaning the windows, and says polish.
Next goal say ‘follow that cab’ whilst gigging.
I just jumped in a cab and said ‘take me to the bridge’ as I musician I’ve always wanted to say that, but it was even more satisfying when in an unexpected context.

Employment puts the bird in the cage. Departments puts the cage in the bird.
if you hire the beautiful animals of creativity, don’t cage them in departments, set them free to revolutionize your business.
if you feel trapped in a vertical department, you’re working for the wrong place. If your company is vendorized into vertical deliverables, you are working for the wrong place. If you work for a client that is marginalized in their own organization you are working for the wrong place.
Creativity should be free.
I’ve just registered the domain chiefcreativeoffice, because I don’t believe that you should put the creative vision of your brand or company in the hands of single chief creative officer.
Future creative vision will come from a collaborative group that have the depth of vertical abilities and the width of empathetic understanding to traverse the complex problems of tomorrow.

I wish I could say that growing up in Chingford was some kind of special sauce for the unhealthy obsession for brilliance. All I can remember is broken down white vans, people dodging taxes and racism. But there must have been something happening to sculpt the early lives of both Jony Ive and David Beckham.

it is quite amusing to see ad agencies tweetvertising their own work, they just can’t help themselves. (tip, try not to always talk about self in social contexts)
why do kids learn to read by holding the book consistently upside down?
Listening to the sxswi hum on twitter reminds me of the how the ad agencies used to act at the Cannes advertising festival. Copious drugs alcohol and food with total ignorance to the state of the world around you. It’s almost roman in it’s ostentation.
Can’t all those smart brains be put to better use. If all interactions are based on human centered design can’t we create...
As I was running for the boat, my phone was ringing. I made the boat, checked my phone and it was dee telling me that there’s a tsunami warning for sf at 8.08, it’s now 7.55.
The Tsunami I hope will be weak, and i fear for my friends in Japan, more than san franciscans, but as the boat was leaving port, I considered how important decisions and timing are.
Good luck to my old R/GA friends giving presentations at SXSWi. http://bit.ly/fJdV3i http://bit.ly/g6pKfx

And so we launch, let’s design the future.
learning a great lesson, sometimes the only thing that lights the darkness of despair is the luminosity of your belief.
Love is, loosing a ‘not particularly expensive’ diamond stud earring in the gravel, through lifting up your fidgeting two year old, then spending an hour on you hands and knees searching for it because that was the first gift your boyfriend gave you before you were married.
Then whilst ‘giving up’ almost in tears, finding the will, determination and belief that by some devine magic, it will...

MIT media lab identity, a lovely example of system, pattern and functional overlap.

I’m experiencing the future of customer service. I just had two major brands issue ‘we cannot help you’ automated responses, on manufacturing defects. Then they set a series of impossible hurdles to progress. It kinda reminds me of insurance claims in the late nineties where only the uber persistent are served. Maybe there’s room for consumer protection middleware that...
Advertising persuades people to do what brands want. Design persuades brands to do what people want.
